UK Task Force at Limmud Fest

28 Aug 2012

The UK Task Force hosted a discussion with Clive Lawton and Rabbi Natan Levy at Limmud Fest on Sunday 26 August.

In a packed room, the audience took part in a fascinating discussion about what lessons can be taken from the Torah on how to engage with Arab citizens of Israel. In a very original session, Clive and Rabbi Natan spoke thoughtfully about the Halakhic underpinnings to their own approaches, and how audience members could approach the issue. Audience members were also able to enjoy sampling different types of Jewish and Arab falafel and hummus.

Rabbi Natan Levy is the interfaith and social action consultant for the Board of Deputies of British Jews. He participated in the UK Task Force study trip to learn about issues relating to Bedouin communities in the Negev in February 2012 and is currently raising money through the Gefiltefest Rabbi Relay Bike Ride for a library in the unrecognised village of Abu Quidar. If you’d like to contribute, you can donate here. Clive Lawton is co-founder and senior consultant to Limmud, the Scholar in Residence at the LJCC and a freelance management and educational consultant.
